Overview

VI Horse Supply, Inc. was established in 1998 on Vashon Island in the heart of Puget Sound in Washington State.  We started our business locally because the population of horses on this jewel of an island was quite large and, at the time, there were no feed or supply stores located here.  Catching a ferry to Seattle, Tacoma, or the Kitsap Peninsula is always an adventure, and once off the Island, we would find ourselves traveling to numerous feed and tack stores to purchase what we needed to keep our horses healthy and happy, and to keep ourselves well outfitted.  Once we decided to start a store here, our business quickly grew to over 11,000 items, including everything from barn and stable supplies to feed and hay for your animals.  We are proud to carry animal feed products from Nutrena, LMF, Country Feeds and Nature Smart Organics.  All our hay and straw comes to us directly from the farmer in Ellensburg, WA.  We have been using the same supplier for over 15 years so we are confident that the quality of hay we receive is consistent from year-to-year.  We also carry other hay products from Mid Valley Milling and Standlee.  Halters, bridles, bits, boots, horse blankets, breeches, books and many other products that horse owners need in their day-to-day operations, as well as numerous gift-type items are also available in store.

Since 1998, our business model has changed in order to keep up with the demands for newer, innovative products and supplies.  As our interest in these areas has grown, we have now adjusted our thinking to include many natural, herbal and integrative products for treating horses, dogs and people. After much research in this area, we are happy to bring you products from Uckele Health & Nutrition and Arenus, with Botanical Animal Essences and Equilite Herbals coming in 2017.  We also carry products from American Biotec Labs (Silver Biotics line), Double Helix Water, Eco Neugenics, Nordic Naturals, and Restore for Gut Health.  We invite you to explore our pages and take a peek at some of our favorite products in this regard.

You will also find a “Closeout Corner,” dedicated to inventory that we will no longer be carrying.  You can expect to find great deals on this page including closeouts on clothing, outerwear and other miscellaneous items, with a flair for all things equine.  Also included on our pages are retired “Trail of Painted Ponies” figurines.  Many of these have been retired for several years now so are hard to find elsewhere.  If you are a collector wishing to add to your collection of Painted Ponies, this is definitely a page you’ll want to visit.  We will also begin a blog series that highlights hints and tips related to horse-keeping that we have learned over the years in this business, as well as testimonials for some of our natural care products.  Because we will be continually adding merchandise to our site, we invite you to come back often and take a peek at our favorite products and to snag the best closeout merchandise while you can.
